Abstract: Nanoparticles are a unique class of material with a wide variety of newlineuses. They have a huge surface area and are chemically more reactive than newlinetheir fine structural counterparts. AgNPs are most effective against viruses, newlinebacteria, and other eukaryotic microbes at lower concentrations. newlineSeven indigenous medicinal plants were selected for biogenic newlinesynthesis of AgNPs namely Momordica charantia, Achyranthes aspera, newlineIndigofera aspalathoides, Acanthospermum hispidum, Calotropis procera, newlinePhyllanthus emblica (Emblica officinalis), and Amaranthus tricolor. The newlinecrude extracts from the leaves and fruits of these seven plants were newlinesystematically screened and scrutinized for plant-based synthesis of AgNPs. newlineAll the plant samples showed better extraction values using water. Therefore, newlinewater extracts were used for the preparation of nanoparticles. The synthesis newlineparameters (AgNO3 concentration, reaction temperature, pH, incubation newlineduration, and AgNO3 to plant extract ratio) were optimized. newlineIn UV-Visible spectroscopy analysis, the green-synthesised AgNPs newlineshowed characteristic peaks between 380 and 450 nm, which confirmed the newlinesilver nanoparticle synthesis. It also confirmed the presence of phenols, newlinecarboxylic groups, alkaloids, halides, proteins, and alcohols by IR newlinespectroscopy newline
