The Indian novel in English becomes one of the best medium to express history and society of India. The novel has been an integral part of story-telling culture in India. The glorious tradition of story-telling attracts Indian English novelists to explore their history and myth on world scenario. The Indian English novel has undergone the inevitable process of modernization and westernization as well as adopting and experimenting the new themes and techniques. The novel in India has gained self-identity and respectable place.
