Mobile phones have become an indispensible entity in their lives. They have been found to be spending considerable time watching TV, using mobile phones, listening to the radio, using social media and observing traditional media at local rural level. However, this study found that TV, radio and newspaper are the least popular among women of Mewat, while, local traditional media and person-to-person communication is most popular among them. The study also found that 99% women have a personal mobile phone but use it only for making and receiving calls. The present study also found that there are more chances that prolonged media usage and its messages through a public campaign affect the decision and behavior of the receivers. The present study also supports various earlier studies on thepresence of basic facilities on worksites and variety of work done under MGNREGA. This study found that basic facilities like crèche, shade, First Aid box and clean drinking water were not provided by Sarpanches on worksites. Only two selective works likedigging of ponds and rural connectivity (90%) were performed under MGNREGA by most of the panchayats, which discourage women wagers to enroll under MGNREGA. Hence, the vivid works under MGNREGA suitable for women wagers are very few. newline
