dc.description.abstract | This comparative study investigates emotional intelligence (EI), personal values (PV), and newlineattitudes towards teaching (AT) among trainee teachers from Scheduled Castes (SC), Other newlineBackward Castes (OBC), and general backgrounds. The research aims to discern potential newlinedifferences and similarities in these variables across diverse trainee teacher populations. newlineEmploying a mixed-methods approach, the study combines quantitative analysis of survey data newlinewith qualitative insights from trainee teachers. Data collection involves administering various newlinemeasurement tools for EI, PV, and AT, followed by rigorous statistical analysis to derive newlinemeaningful conclusions. newlineFindings indicate that all groups of trainee teachers exhibit high levels of self-awareness and newlineempathy in EI. While general trainees demonstrate higher self-motivation and integrity, OBCs newlineand SCs show comparable scores in managing relations and altruistic behavior. In PV, religious newlinevalues are uniformly average, with OBCs displaying higher social values. Regarding AT, all newlinegroups demonstrate positive attitudes towards teaching, with minor variations observed. newlineComparative analysis reveals both commonalities and distinctions across EI, PV, and AT newlinedimensions among the three groups. While significant differences exist in certain dimensions, newlineothers show uniformity. Coefficient correlations suggest an independent relationship between newlineEI and PV, while significant correlations are found between EI and AT, implying a potential newlinelink between emotional intelligence and teaching attitudes. newlineEducational implications underscore the significance of EI, PV, and AT in teacher newlineeffectiveness and selection processes. Recommendations for further research include broader newlinesampling, exploration of additional personality variables, and studies on different educational newlinelevels and occupational adjustments. newlineIn conclusion, this study sheds light on the nuanced dynamics of emotional intelligence, newlinepersonal values, and attitudes towards teaching among diverse trainee teacher populations | |
