Abstract: The present study was carried out in liver to elucidate the epigenetic, biochemical and molecular mechanism of folate modulation with ageing on folate transporters, and promoter methylation of tumor suppressor and proto-oncogenes in an in-vivo model of folate deficiency and supplementation, to understand the intricate mechanism between age and DNA methylation. The folate modulation was also observed in an invitro model of liver cancer cell lines to understand the role of mTOR associated with autophagy. newline
