Abstract: | In the present investigation, entitled Anticancer activity of nanoparticle formulation of sesquiterpenoids from Naregamia alata wight and arn against Dalton Ascitic Lymphoma (DAL) and Ehrlich Ascitic Carcinoma (EAC) in swiss albino mice , the sesquiterpenoids isolated from Naregamia alata were screened for anticancer activity and developed the novel drug delivery of nanoparticle formulation. PHYTOCHEMICAL INVESTIGATION EXTRACT OF NAREGAMIA ALATA: The dried powder of whole plants were extracted sequentially using different newlinepolarities of solvents. Preliminary screening of hydroalcololic extract of Naregamia alata showed the presence of alkaloids, glycosides, flavonoids, phenols, tannins and sesquiterpenoids. IN VITRO ANTIOXIDANT STUDY OF HAENA: The extracts were subjected to in vitro antioxidant studies. The extracts were tested for their activities against DPPH, nitric oxide, and Lipid Per-oxidation Inhibitory Activity All the extracts tested possessed antioxidant activities. INVITRO ANTICANCER ACTIVITY OF HAENA: The extracts were subjected to in vitro anticancer studies. The extracts were tested for their percentage cell growth inhibition of on DU145, MEF L929 and PC-3cell lines by MTT assay and cell morphological studies. The present studies indicated that HAENA exhibited significant anticancer activity by inhibiting cancer cell growth. The inhibition of cell growth by HAENA due to the effect of bioactive compound sesquiterpenoids (®caryophylline) present in the extract. EVALUATION OF ANTICANCER ACTIVITY OF EXTRACT OF NAREGAMIA ALATA: Anticancer activity of extract of Naregamia alata by DAL and EAC cell lines were evaluated. The following parameters were evaluated. Effect of extract of Naregamia alata on derived parameters. Effect of extract of Naregamia alata on hematological Parameters. Effect of extract of Naregamia alata on biochemical Parameters. Effect of extract of Naregamia alata on serum enzymes and lipids. These studies indicated that HAENA exhibited significant anticancer activity. |
