Abstract: This research investigates the adverse effects of lambda cyhalothrin, a widely used pyrethroid newlinepesticide, on two common Indian fish species, Heteropneustes fossilis and Channa punctatus. newlineThe study encompasses bioassay experiments and analyses of hematological, biochemical, and newlinehistological parameters to assess the impact of the pesticide. The thesis comprises eight newlinechapters, including an introduction highlighting the significance of studying pesticide toxicity newlineto aquatic fauna and the selection of experimental compounds and fish species. A historical newlinereview in the second chapter surveys relevant literature, providing insights into past studies newlineand ongoing projects related to pesticide issues, guiding the research direction. newlineThe third chapter details the experimental setup, including information on lambda cyhalothrin, newlineexperimental fish species, and methodologies for bioassays, hematological, biochemical, and newlinehistological studies, adhering to standard laboratory practices. The observation chapter presents newlinefindings through tables, graphs, and calculations, depicting alterations in bioassay results, newlinehematological parameters (TEC, TLC, etc.), biochemical parameters (protein, albumin, etc.), newlineand histological slides. newlineIn the discussion chapter, findings are contextualized with recent literature, elucidating reasons newlinebehind parameter alterations, and concluding remarks are provided. The summary chapter newlineoffers a comprehensive overview of the research, while significant findings and newlinerecommendations for further research are presented. The bibliography chapter lists all newlinereferences used in the thesis, adhering to proper citation standards. newlineSignificant findings include time and dose-dependent trends in lambda cyhalothrin toxicity, newlinenotable alterations in hematological and biochemical parameters, and histological evidence of newlinedamage in treated fish. These findings underscore the need for strict pesticide usage guidelines newlineto protect non-target aquatic fauna and emphasize the importance of designing future pesticides newline
