Abstract: | OBJECTIVE newlineThe purpose of the study was to prepare the psychological profile of unmarried and married sports women. newlinePROCEDURE newlineTo attain the aim of the research study 1000 sports women, unmarried (500) and married (500) sports women were selected purposively from various places in India age ranging from 20-45 years, with different sports disciplines, whose level of achievement was Senior National Championship, All India Inter-University, Master National Championship competition. For the said research the data would be collected by the researcher personally with the consent of coaches and subjects themselves. Prior to the administration of the test, the investigator had a meeting with the concerned coaches and subjects. Before administrating the study, the scholar briefed the subjects about the purpose of the research and then the protocol for administrating the test. The scholar had explained the meaning of all the statements for better understanding and then adequate time had been given to all the subjects to provide their response. Any statement that was not very clear to subjects has been further clarified by the researcher herself. Before collecting the questionnaires from all the subjects, they were assured that their responses would be confidential. It will be used only for research purposes and not for any other work. newlineAfter that in the study 1000 sports women, were further divided into unmarried (500) and married (500). Additionally, the study was delimited to selected psychological variables which were personality traits measured with the Big Five Inventory (BFI), mood states measured with the Brunel Mood Scale (BRUMS), coping skills measured with the Athletic Coping Skill Inventory (ACSI) tool was used. For collecting the data scholars used purposive sampling. |
