Abstract: Objectives 1. To evaluate the efficacy, of the Chandanadi Ropan Taila matra bast i on the time taken for the onset of post operative pain, in Hemorrhoidectomy cases. Design - Study Type: Interventional; Allocation: Randomized; Efficacy study; newlineIntervention Model: Parallel Assignment; Masking: Open Label; Primary Purpose: newlineTreatment Setting Sindagi Shantaveereshwara Ayurveda Hospital, Haveri , Karnataka; newlineParticipants: From February 2020 to December 2022, 100 patients of Arsho rog(Haemorrhoids) diagnosed clinically on the basis of symptoms and was indicated for haemorrhoidectomy was randomly categorized into Group A and Group B. Interventions Patients who get admitted for the hemorrhoidectomy will be given newlinechandanadi tail matra basti on the previous day night after dinner. Next day patient newlinewill be posted for hemorrhoidectomy. Under local anesthesia hemorrhoidectomy done following Milligan Morgan procedure. Immediately after completing the procedure after conforming hemostastis, 40 ml Of Luke warm Chandandi Ropan Tail will be given in the form of matrabasti using 50ml syringe. After pushing the oil in the anal canal an anal pack will be kept using a cotton pad dipped in same oil. Primary outcome measures - Time take to inset of pain after surgery. newlineSecondary outcome measures Severity of pain at different intervals and amount of newlineanalgesia required in 7days post operative period Results On comparing in between the groups at after Treatment (AT) p value newline(lt0.001) revealed highly-significant statistical differences between the groups on the effect of treatment on time of onset of pain. The mean rank of Group A is more than mean rank of Group B ,. Hence, the result newlinein the effect of treatment on time of onset of pains better in Group A , than Group newline B , as it takes more time in Group A for the onset of pain. Conclusions Matra basti with Chandanadi Ropan Tail given on previous night and immediately after the surgery provide good post operative analgesia compared to control group patients.
