Abstract: Next-generation communication system is anticipated to support rapid growth in traffic volume and offer seamless data rate transmission to meet the criteria outlined in the International Mobile Telecommunications 2020 (IMT- 2020) requirements draft issued by the ITU radiocommunication sector. The 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) developed an advanced air interface known as fifth-generation new radio (5G NR), which supports scalable bandwidth features compared to 4G systems. 5G NR wireless standard with three salient features like enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable low latency communications (uRLLC), and massive machine-type communications (mMTC) emerged as a solution to the above requirements. Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), a promising candidate technology with its inherent nature to support multiple users non-orthogonally, helps to enhance the aforementioned salient features of 5G NR systems. Additionally, mobile communications rapidly approach the upper bound of the sub-6GHz band.
