Abstract: | quotThis research aims to provide an overview of the various centrifugal casting processes for evaluating the mechanical properties of near eutectic aluminium silicon alloy, specifically for the universal centrifugal casting process. Centrifugal casting process variables like preheat temperature of the mold, mold rotation speed, coating of mold, temperature of molten metal, axis of rotation of mold, mold wall thickness, and pouring position play an essential role in the properties of the material. These parameters must be selected cautiously during the centrifugal casting processes to enhance the properties of Al-Si alloy. As a result, this parameter should be kept under control newlineCentrifugal casting is a casting process that involves the use of centrifugal force to distribute and shape molten material into a desired form. It is an essential and widely used casting technique. The centrifugal casting process offers several advantages, including improved material quality, casting integrity, design flexibility, cost efficiency, time efficiency, and compatibility with different materials. These benefits contribute to its importance and widespread use in various industrial applications. newlineBased on the axis of rotation, the centrifugal casting process is classified into horizontal centrifugal casting and vertical centrifugal casting processes. In horizontal centrifugal casting, the mold rotates horizontally around its axis. The molten material is poured into the rotating mold, and the centrifugal force distributes the material radially to form the casting. While in vertical centrifugal casting, the mold rotates vertically around its axis. The molten material is poured into the top of the rotating mold, and centrifugal force distributes the material radially to create the casting. newlineBesides the horizontal and vertical aspects of the centrifugal casting process, exploring inclined or intermediate centrifugal casting in detail is important because having separate horizontal and vertical setups requires higher initial in |
