Abstract: | The main objective of this research work is to design and develop a newlineweb based embedded controller for a PV powered low cost batteryless newlineelectric drive The system comprises of induction motor powered from newlinephotovoltaic panels a current fed boost dc dc converter and an inverter There newlineare advantages in avoiding the use of batteries which are heavy and newlineexpensive but the absence does not compromise the efficiency of power newlineconversion chain from the PV panel to the induction motor The Maximum newlinePower Point Tracking MPPT system is implemented with current fed fullbridge newlineboost dc dc converter to extract maximum power from the solar PV newlinearray which uses hill climbing algorithm This algorithm is simulated in newlineMATLAB SIMULINK and implemented with microcontroller newlineThis work also proposes to design different control methods for newlineinduction motor vector control using PI controller classical Direct newlineTorque Control DTC using Space Vector Pulse Width Modulated newline SVPWM and Fuzzy Logic based Direct Torque Control FL DTC The newlinecontrollers are designed and simulated with MATLAB SIMULINK and newlineimplemented as embedded controller with Field Programmable Gate Array newlineFPGA processors The advantage of Fuzzy Logic Controller FLC is a newlinelinguistic controller and does not require a precise and accurate mathematical newlinemodel of the induction motor drive newline newline |
