Abstract: Humans have certain needs which they need to fulfil and all these needs are regulated by emotions and cognition, e.g., food, shelter, safety, security, power, love, and comfortability. All these are momentary needs that are fulfilled once but never end. It also differently matters from person to person. But when any need is not able to be gratified by the person, for e.g., not being loved, feeling of insecurity or uncomfortableness it leads to the experience of negative emotions (Maslow, 2020). newlineThe present study was conducted to carry out the effect of positive emotions with the application of different standardized emotion induction methods on young adults. This was an experimental study based on the theory of Broaden and Build s (1998) theory of positive emotions. In this study, a total of 300 college-going students of Delhi-NCR regions of the age group 20-30 years old were taken. The results were carried out with the help of statistical analysis to find out the effectiveness of emotion induction methods: autobiographical recall method, self-referencing mood statements method, and video induction method. It was found that emotion induction methods were effective but their effect wasn t significantly found with the different types of effect groups. newlineAll the subjects were contacted individually for the conduction of the experiment. The consent form including basic socio-demographical details about the subject was obtained. The subject was brought into the experimental laboratory and before starting the experiment, every subject was asked to give their subjective current mood state by rating it on a five-point Likert scale very low (1) to very high (5) positive affect . After rating, a brief session of deep-breathing relaxation for 8 minutes was introduced to the experimental subject, so that any kind of disturbing experience can be controlled.
