Abstract: | Parkinsons disease PD is recognized as the second neurodegenerative disease next to Alzheimers disease It is essential to bring forth the general characteristic features about PD as its aetiology remains elusive and at the same time insidious Various research literatures are available in the context of pathophysiology of PD and therapeutic management protocols however literatures are scarce regarding causative factors and also the herbal remedy Hence our present study aimed to ascertain the clinical and biochemical characteristics of Parkinsons disease using rotenone for Parkinsons induction and Zebrafish as animal model In addition current study also focused to evaluate the antiparkinsonian effect of herbal extract prepared using Cayratia auriculata C auriculata leaves Prior to in vivo analysis using zebrafish in vitro study was carried out to find the cytotoxic property of C auriculata In addition antioxidant anti inflammatory neuroprotective effect was also tested using in vitro cell line model Results of the present study conclude that rotenone is an excellent inducer of PD in Zebrafish model revealed from neuronal cell viability behavioural patterns histopathological characteristics synuclein expression and level of dopamine In addition it also concludes that Ethanolic extract of C auriculata leaves impart effective anti parkinsonian effect revealed from in vitro as well as in vivo studies using cell lines and zebrafish model newline |
