dc.description.abstractIntroduction: Jyotisha is a major branch of the six Vedanga whereas the Ayurveda is the newlineUpaveda of Rigveda. The significance of time (Kala) in Ayurveda is in relation with the newlineconcepts in Jyotisha. Ayurveda also depends on other Vedangas like Shiksha, Kalpa, newlineVyakarana, Nirukta, Chhanda, Jyotisha for better understanding of literature and newlinefundamentals. Daiva word is attributed to unknown causes or Karmaja Hetu s of diseases, newlineand the treatment is mentioned as Daivavyapashraya, Karmaja Vyadhi Chikitsa. There is association of various parts of the body, diseases and drugs with the nature of sun, moon, planets and the twelve astrological signs. Each zodiac sign is associated with parts of the body and are believed to be presiding over the parts of the body from head to toe which can be found in literature of Vedanga. Impact of planets on diseases, on individual nature, on psychological, physical, extrinsic and intrinsic origin etc. may be found. The time of collection of medicinal herbs, timing of Shodhana therapy, uses of vibrations like that of particular prayers in Jwara, Kushta, are also available in Ayurveda. As a few researches have been carried out, till date on the inter-disciplinary approach of Ayurveda and Jyotisha; it is essential and a novel effort which has a prime role in social impact to understand the causative factors of Vandhyatva through the medical astrological aspects as enumerated in the Pratitantra Siddhanta of Ayurveda Samhita s with that of Jyotisha Granthas. Hence an effort is made here through this observation study to evaluate the causative factors of Vandhyatva in Ayurveda in par with that of the Jyotisha so that further exploratory researches in the field of DaivavyapashrayaChikitsa can be undertaken in future. Aim and Objectives: Aim: Is to carry out, an observational study to evaluate the etiological factors of Vandhyatva through Jyotisha. Objectives of study were conceptual review of Jyotisha newlinein Ayurveda Samhita.
