Abstract: | Objectives of this study were to study the health and nutritional status of children (0-6 years) and to assess the impact of the Integrated Child Development Services programme. The study design was such that the mixed/ quasi experimental of one group pre test (at the time of admission in Anganwadi) and post test (at the time of follow up). Modus operandi of selection Anganwadi Centres was stratified purposive random sample. Consequently, the result stated that In Anganwadi 74% children were boys while 26% were girls. 7% children were of 0-3 years of age whereas 64% were of 3-5 years of age and 29% were of 5-6 years who took admission in AW. newlineOn average the percent deficit of Boys mean height and Girls mean height has been decreased from 6.51% (At the time of admission) to 3.31% (At the time of follow up after 15 months) and 5.80% (At the time of admission) to 4.73% (At the time of follow up after 15 months) respectively which means that Boys attained 96.68% height and girls attained 95.26% height as com-pared with ICMR standard. Similarly boys achieved 94.32% of weight according to the ICMR standard and girls achieved 89.45% at the time of follow up. Furthermore 70.94% of boys and 46.15% of girls had normal hair, whereas 96.62% of boys and 97.11% girls had normal eyes at the time of follow up. Additionally, 85.13% of boys and 92.30% of girls had accomplished nor-mal lips at the time of follow up. Thereafter 93.24% of boys and 84.61% of girls attained normal tongue at the time of follow up. 89.18% of boys and 79.80% of girls were having good teeth at the time of follow up. Moreover 92.56% of boys and 75% of girls had normal nails at the time of follow up. Eventually, 89.18% of boys and 80.76% girls were accomplished with good/normal muscular system at the time of follow up. In conclusion, the impact of ICDS and Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre on nutritional and health status on children (0-6 years age group) was good because the value of height, weight, MUAC, and head circumference and clinical symptoms of hair, |
