Abstract

This study examined the information seeking behaviour of Library users in B.Ed college Libraries in Haryana state entitled Information Seeking Behaviour of newlineB. Ed. Colleges in Haryana State: A study is carried out for Ph.D work in Library and Information Science of Nims University, Rajasthan Jaipur. The objectives of this study were among other to discover the information needs of library users in B. Ed. Colleges, Mahendragarh District of the Haryana. The study was conducted using two types of the questionnaires; first one was for the collection of data from the Librarian newline/ Library Incharge and second one for the users who gave their opinion how they seek the information from their libraries. newlineThis study is conducted for 20 B.Ed college libraires and their services. Though users and librarians and library incharge have given their answers on various points positively. But in practical, the situation is different and librarians have to do so many works manually. Further, only books are there and no other periodicals or online resources are available in these libraires. Thus, the library authorities and the recognition giving agencies like NCERT etc. should keep in mind that minimum library standards have to be followed by each and every B.Ed. college library. newlineHowever, the thus, the present study will be restricted to the colleges exist in Mahendragarh district of the Haryana. Further, the study can be elaborated by taking all teacher education colleges of the Mahendragarh (Haryana) into consideration or all districts of the Haryana into the study for having more concreted results. newline newline
