Abstract: | BACKGROUND newlineComputer vision syndrome is becoming a major public health issue. Improving the visual status of workers using computers results in greater productivity in the workplace and improved visual comfort. Aim of this study is to see the effect of homoeopathic treatment in computer vision syndrome as compared to placebo. newlineMETHOD newlineThis study was a randomized placebo-controlled trial which was carried out in M.N.H.M.C and R.I Bikaner. 100 cases were registered in this study 50 in each group. Group A (n=50) received Homoeopathic treatment along with Ergonomic Guide and Group B (n=50) received Placebo along with Ergonomic Guide. Analysis of Computer vision syndrome questionnaire was done at baseline, three week and six weeks. newlineRESULT newlineIn this study males were predominant in both the groups and the mean age was 34.34 years. In Group A 33 cases shows marked improvement, and 17 cases show moderate improvement; in Group B 2 cases sows moderate improvement,39 cases show mild improvement and 9 cases shows non -significant changes. Computer vision syndrome questionnaire was lower in patients receiving homeopathic treatment and Ergonomic Guidance. The most frequently prescribed homoeopathic medicines were Ruta (n=10,20%) Belladona (n=8,16%) Pulsatilla (n=5,10%); Phosphorus. newlineii newlineCONCLUSION newlineHomoeopathic treatment together with ergonomic intervention show early decline in intensity and severity of symptoms as compare ergonomic intervention only. newlineKEYWORDS newlineHomoeopathy, Homeopathic Medicines, Computer Vision Syndrome, Computer Vision Syndrome Questionnaire, Randomised controlled trial, newline |
