dc.description.abstractPluchea wallichiana DC, a member of the Asteraceae family recognized as wallich camphor weeds, is practically employed for its anti-inflammatory properties. Overcoming the challenge of limited oral absorption and bioavailability of these beneficial phytoconstituents, a promising solution comes in the form of a novel phytovesicular delivery system known as the phytosome, newlinedemonstrating effective results. Aim and Objective: The aim of the present study is development, characterization and phytopharmacological evaluation of anti-inflammatory novel herbal formulation. newlineMaterial and Methods: The process of plant profile development for Pluchea wallichiana DC involved authentication and evaluation of the leaf, root, and stem through macro-microscopical and physicochemical analysis. An essential mineral presence was confirmed via ICP-MS. The DPPH technique was employed to evaluate the antioxidant capacity of the leaf. Various leaf extracts were prepared using the soxhlet apparatus, followed by qualitative and quantitative analysis. The ethyl acetate extract (EAC) was identified as the bioactive fraction using the in vivo carrageenan model. High resolution liquid chromatography- mass spectrometry (HRLCMS) and high-performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) were employed to identify and quantify kaempferol in EAC. The ethyl acetate extract: phospholipid (1:1.5) complex (EPC) was prepared by thin film hydration using 32 full factorial design. The physicochemical characterization of EPC included solubility, entrapment efficiency (EE), particle size, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), infrared absorption (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dissolution, and stability studies. Further, an adjuvant-induced arthritis model applied newlineto demonstrate the therapeutic potential of EPC.Result: Pluchea wallichiana DC is an erect, branching shrub with complex corymb white flowers and camphoraceous, alternating, roughly obovate, sessile, green leaves.
