dc.description.abstract | Understanding homosexuality after the decriminalization act: a sociological prognosis newlineThe aforementioned topic of this study is centered on the most stigmatized term newline homosexuality and the recent decriminalization of this behaviour. Homosexuality, that newlinerecognized as a sexual orientation by the supreme court of India, denotes a persistent newlinepattern or inclination of any person who experiences sexual attachments or romantic newlineconnections primarily to people of the same sex. The attribute forms a person s sense of newlinepersonal and social identity, commonly referred to as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, newlineor queer, generally referred to as LGBTQ individuals. LGBTQ is an umbrella term, which newlineuses the first acronym and incorporates a wide spectrum of people who reject the newlineheteronormative structure of society. Term homosexuality is thought to be of originated in newlinethe west, but it existed for a long in India before colonization. Ancient texts provide newlinetestimonies of a variety of sexualities.
