Abstract: | The present study focuses on health risk factors due to psychological variables and hormonal newlinedisorders in men and women. It is an intense journey of recognizing men s hormonal newlineimbalances as equally as women. As a profession, psychology has come to recognize its place newlinein the prevention and suppression of hormonal imbalances and the treatment of those who newlinesuffer from them in all the most significant multidisciplinary contexts of the systematic newlinecombat against such imbalances. Menopause and Andropause are taboo topics that have been newlinestigmatized for centuries, particularly in Indian culture. Menopause refers to the time in a newlinewoman s life (usually between the age of 45 and 50) when she no longer has menstruation. In newlinesimple terms it is the period when menstruation ceases. Whereas, andropause means a decline newlinein testosterone levels which generally begins at the age of 40 in men. A total of 300 newlineindividuals including 150 men and 150 women, were surveyed for this study. In this study, newlinewe employee psychological tools in the form of General Health Questionnaire (GHQ 12) newlinefor both men and women, Aging Male s Symptoms (AMS) for males, and Anxiety newlineDepression Stress Scale (ADSS) for females. Analysis includes calculating the mean, newlinestandard deviation, T ratio, etc. The purpose of this research is twofold: first, to highlight newlinethe value of self-awareness in terms of health, and second, to analyze and disseminate newlineinformation on menopausal and andropause symptoms. Both working and non-working newlinewomen s perspectives and experiences with menopause and andropause are compared. The newlinesocial variables have a significant role in the onset of andropause symptoms in men. One of newlinethe major findings include working women are more capable of dealing with stress as newlinecompared to non-working women and many other differences have been ruled out with this newlinestudy. newlineKeywords: Menopause, Andropause, Hormonal Imbalances, Testosterone, Depression newline |
