Abstract: The healthcare sector is a highly relevant to mankind and the quality of care provided by the healthcare workers is of utmost importance. The outbreak of COVID 19 has escalated the Health Care Workers vulnerability owing to their work situation. Numerous factors including extended exposure to COVID-19 patients the presence of contamination fear irregular working hours and workload have substantially contributed to the strain and exhaustion among them. Job satisfaction being the significant marker of employee quality performance this study prompts the need to get instigated among healthcare workers. Since they are the caregivers of society this is especially worrisome since HCWs respond to health crises to save lives while exposing themselves to the risk of infection. It is important to recognize that they are individuals with anxieties and fears families and want to survive. In such circumstances social support provides a sense of purpose and achievement leads to fulfilment in their jobs. Therefore this study is intended to investigate the level of job satisfaction and effect of social support on the motivation of HCWs during the pandemic COVID 19. The investigation is a cross-sectional descriptive study using an online based survey. The population of this study includes doctors nurses lab technicians and community health workers working in different government and private hospitals in four major cities of Jharkhand. To test the hypotheses and achieve the objectives statistical analysis is executed with the help of descriptive analysis Pearsons correlation coefficient regression analysis ANOVA T Test and Chi square using SPSS and Microsoft Office Excel. Findings revealed that there is a weak to negligible impact of job satisfaction social support and demographic variables on HCWs motivation to work during the pandemic COVID-19.
