Abstract: The study delves into the pivotal role of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) within India s National Health Mission (NHM), in the State of Punjab. It highlights the ASHAs dedication in bridging healthcare gaps for marginalized communities and their impact on maternal and infant mortality rates. Despite their contributions, challenges such as inadequate compensation, training, and workload persist. The study emphasizes the importance of accurate record-keeping for program integrity and calls for rigorous investigation and evidence-based solutions. By addressing ASHAs challenges, the study advocates for fortifying India s healthcare system towards achieving universal health coverage and equitable access. It acknowledges ASHAs resilience and underscores the pursuit of health as a fundamental human right. newline
