Abstract

In recent times, owing to more stringent environmental regulations globally, there is a greater newlinedemand of dry or near dry machining in the modern industries. While application of advanced newlinehard coatings over cutting tools has proved to be a technologically viable alternative in the last newlinefew decades, it still could not promote environment-friendly dry machining due to lack of newlinerequisite lubricating properties of hard coatings. Therefore, it is essential to effectively combine newlinesolid lubrication with hardness and wear resistance of the coating material for cutting tool newlineapplications.
