dc.description.abstractnewline quotABSTRACT newlineIntroduction newlineThe two cruciate ligaments which are such as the anterior cruciate ligament and posterior cruciate ligament intact inside the knee joint serve as the primary means of connecting the knee joint cavity. These are the backbones of the joint which are crucial for maintaining stability. It measures about 38 mm of length and 11 mm of breadth found in adults. A downward dip behind the intra articular top surface of the Tibia is where the PCL is placed. It begins from the posterior part of the lateral side of medial condyle of femur bone at the notch of inter-condylar area and travels distally and backwards. Adult PCL measured about 38mm in length and 13mm in breadth. Knowing the mean differences of morphometric data between both right and left sides is newlinecrucial when reconstructing each cruciate ligament independently on either side. newline newlineMaterial and Methods newlineIn this study we used 60 cadaveric knee joints (30 cadavers) of normal knee joints. The study place was SBKSMI and RC, Vadodara, Gujarat. Digital Vernier Calliper and measuring tape used as chief tool for the study. The study was performed after dissection of cadavers and noted the morphometric parameters of cruciate ligaments at their attachment points. newline newlineResults newlineThe Mean ± SD Total length ACL calculated as 30.39 ± 3.66, 30.81 ± 3.03 in both the sides of knee joint respectively. In measurements in PCL it was found that 33.16 ± 2.63 and 32.94 ± 2.80 on right and left knee joints while measurements of length of Femur and Tibia was 440.77 ± 23.23, 440.60 ± 23.12 in both knees and 388.15 ± 20.25, 381.50 ± 20.22 respectively. The newlinemeasurements were found insignificant at the and#945; = 5% on both the ligaments. newline newlineDiscussion newlineOur study showing some similarities with Geetha Rani BG et al, slightly higher than Rajarshi Dutta et al and lower than Yelicherla AK et al respectively.quot newline
