Abstract: | High desire leads to success in life. In order to continue further education, achieve good scores in higher education and be successful in one s job, educational desire is essential. Education, like any other work, requires motivation, which affects the destiny of aspiring pupils. Everyone has a desire to succeed and a fear of failure, but these desires and fears differ from person to person and context to context. Educational aspiration directs the learner towards a goal and allows for ego involvement. The amount of educational desire and motivation in students can be influenced by their upbringing. Different parenting styles play an important part in motivating their children to strive in life. Parenting entails a fathering role, a mothering role, and a father-mother role. The type of parental support a kid receives may impact his or her level of scholastic desire. Another influential element might be the mother s employment. Mothers may play a role model for their wards to aspire high academically. Because higher secondary is the transition point between school education and higher education, it is the ideal moment to investigate students educational aspirations. In order to better understand how parenting style, maternal employment, and achievement motivation impact on high school students educational aspiration the present study will look at these factors. The principal goals of the research are: a) To explore the nature of higher secondary students parenting style (perceived), achievement motivation, maternal employment and educational aspiration; b) To investigate the relationship between parenting style and educational aspiration, and between achievement motivation and educational aspiration; c) To develop a regression model for educational aspiration of higher secondary students with the help of predictor variables like parenting style, achievement motivation and maternal employment, taken individually as well as taken all together newline |
