A Study of Regional Pattern of Economic Infrastructural Development in Jammu Division

Abstract

Economic infrastructure is considered as a key indicator of growth and development of a country especially power, banking, transport and communication. These parameters of economic infrastructure play a significant role in connecting the backward region with more advanced region, through roads and diverting the small and scattered savings in developmental activities of an economy through banking services. They help in running the economic activities of small, medium and large scale industries by providing un-interrupted power supply and making aware both producer and Consumer about updated information regarding market demand and supply condition with the help of communication technology. The present study aims to analyze the regional pattern of economic infrastructure in Jammu Division during 2011 to 2019.The study is based on secondary sources of data. In this study region wise growth pattern as well as regional status of economic infrastructure of various districts of Jammu division along with regional disparities has been analyzed. For this analysis district wise composite index of economic infrastructural development has been constructed by using factor analysis method. Further the study also attempts to find the linkages of economic infrastructure with economic development. The study concludes that interregional disparities have reduced over the period of time. Along with these strong linkages of economic infrastructure with economic development has been established. newline
