Abstract: In the present study, professional commitment among secondary school teachers was analyzed under the influence of their quality of work life and communication skills. Professional commitment is the spirit of a teacher with consistency, competency and loyalty. Quality of Work-Life is the time spent by a teacher personally and professionally. Communication Skills are the channels by which knowledge and information is transferred to the students effectively. Descriptive survey method of research was employed on 500 secondary school teachers of Hoshiarpur district of Punjab state only, which were further divided on the basis of their gender, School type, academic stream, family type and experience. Stratified Random sampling technique was used for the sample. Two standardized scales Professional Commitment, Quality of work-life inventory and one self-standardized scale of Teacher Communication Skills were used by the investigator. Skewness and kurtosis, Pearson s product moment coefficient of correlation, Critical ratio and Step-up- Regression equation were used to analyze the data. There exists a significant positive relationship between professional commitment and quality of work life and its dimensions on the bases of classificatory variables. However low positive relation exists between professional commitment and communications skills and its dimensions on the bases of classificatory variables. Owing to the results of the researcher, it was suggested that the school administrations should provide facilities and provisions to their teachers for balancing their quality of work life and commitment to their profession for the better educational out comes. newline
