Abstract

Presently, the rate of Cybercrime against women is increasing rapidly. newlineCybercrime against women includes various type of crimes committed through newlineInternet. The present study focused on causes and its social implications with newlinereference to Pune City. Cybercrime against women is becoming threat to the newlinesociety. The offenders are using internet as tool to committ Cybercrime against newlinewomen. Cyber-crime is the most recent type of crime which affects many newlinepeople. This is the biggest challenge for police, prosecutor and law makers. If newlinewe do not wake up, we would be mere spectators in the cyber world. The newlinecriminal provisions deal with offences such as tempering with source code, newlinehacking into computer systems, publishing of obscene Information and misuse newlineof licenses or digital signature. The problem is multi fold in an area like newlinepornography which its basis, certain moral standards and uses parameters like newlineindecency and obscenity. There is fluid depending upon social values. When newlinethis is coupled with the intangible transient medium that is the Internet, the newlineresult is enough to make legislators lament and magistrates mourn to categories newlinecriminal behavior concerning computer and crimes.
