Abstract: In non-central heavy-ion collisions, the strong magnetic field created from fast-moving spectator protons causes charge separation perpendicular to the reaction plane, known as the CME. To probe the existence and properties of the CME, extensive theoretical and experimental efforts have been made, particularly by experimental collaborations at the RHIC and the LHC. This thesis focuses on exploring the charge separation effects and identifying the potential events displaying characteristics similar to the CME. A novel method, Sliding Dumbbell Method (SDM) has been developed to identify potential CME-like events with higher back-to-back charge separation on an event-by-event basis. To validate the SDM, a CME-like signal is externally injected by flipping charges of particles in events generated by the AMPT model (Au+Au at and#8730;sNN=200GeV). The AMPT events, both with and without injected CME-like signals, are analyzed in a similar way as the experimental data. newline
