Abstract: | Aluminum materials are soft and light weight material. It is used in newlinemost of the industrial sectors such as automobile, aero, construction, marine, newlinepetro-chemical, electrical, electronics and medicine. newlineAluminum material is alloyed with elements like magnesium, newlinemanganese, lithium, silicon and copper to produce aluminium alloys. These newlinealloys are having superior properties than pure aluminium. newlineAA8090 material in one of the aluminium alloy material by newlinecombining aluminium with lithium element. Since the lithium is light in newlineweight, the AA8090 material possesses less density and low weight. This newlineproperty attracts these materials in aero industries to fabricate aircraft newlinestructure. Further, the marine and defence industries use this material to newlineproduce ship body, tanks, fighting vehicle, weapons etc. newlineDespite AA8090 material displayed good strength, this material is newlinesuffered with low resistance against wear. This limitation prevents its newlineutilization in many industrial applications where wear and tear is predominant newlinefactor. Further, the early depreciation of AA8090 material shortens the lift newlinetime of structure made with AA8090. newlineHence, solving the aforementioned issue could be significant work. newlineHence, this research work focuses on the strengthening of AA8090 material newlineagainst the wear. Thus, the objective of this research work is to investigate the newlinewear performance of AA8090 material. newline |
