Abstract: | The world s energy requirement has been dominated by petroleum oil newlinefor centuries in many application fields, including transportation, household, and newlineelectricity. Mineral oil, an essential insulating material in transformers, has been newlineused for over 150 years. Mineral oil application in power system equipment can newlinebe potentially hazardous to the environment, especially when there are any newlineincidents during an operational time like a transformer explosion which may newlinecause a spill of oil into the soil or water stream. Since petroleum products are newlinenon-renewable, sustaining those resources also becomes our concern. newlineRegeneration of the petroleum coolant used in the transformer is one way of newlinemaintaining the resources. Even while petroleum-based compounds have newlineoutstanding electrical, physical, and chemical qualities, recent results have made newlinesome dielectric experts more concerned. Petroleum products have a weak ability newlineto biodegrade, which can harm the environment. Equipment oil leaks have also newlinecontaminated the environment in other ways, including the soil and water. The newlinelack of petroleum product resources is a significant issue in meeting the rising newlinedemand in the industrial sectors. Various researchers have concentrated on newlineidentifying a suitable replacement for replacing traditional petroleum-based newlinemineral oil. newline Among many alternatives investigated as liquid insulation over the newlineyears, biodegradable vegetable oil-based Natural Esters have shown encouraging newlineresults of critical qualities to be one of the primary alternatives for replacing the newlinemany liquid insulations. However, a few issues with natural esters will prevent newlinepower utilities, maintenance companies, and industrial firms from using them as newlinea straight replacement for mineral oil in the equipment. newline |
