Abstract

It is said that history is a series of biography. The life of any famous person includes much of history of the period in which he lived. Swami Dayananda was one great saint who left his foot prints on the sand of time. He was the founder of Arya Samaj, a reform movement of the Vedic Dharma. He was a great Philosopher, Social leader and the first one to give the call for Swaraj as India for Indians in 1876 AD. Therefore the purposed subject will be an attempt to throw the light on the life of Swami Dayananda and the role of his organization Arya Samaj in the Upliftment of Women. newlineApart, it also provides a comprehensive details of upliftment of Women conceptualized by the author in the work. In order to resolve the contentious issues of Women and also identifying the author, have been taken up in the present study: Upliftment of Women : A Study of Arya Samaj.
