Abstract: | newline Ayurveda emphasizes preventive and curative aspects of the disease. The Ayurvedic treatment corrects the imbalance caused by Tridosha and establishes harmony between mind, body, and soul. It is essential that before planning any treatment one should have complete knowledge of Roga. Samprapti is a continuous process and it can occupy the additional Dosha, Dhatu, and Mala due to the lack of proper treatment and Nidan Parivarjana. In the chronic stage, Dhatugatawastha of diseases can be developed. newlineThe disease hypothyroidism is an Anukta-Vyadhi. In chronic conditions, the development of Dhatugatawastha of Hypothyroidism in various Srotasas can be observed. Understanding the concept of the Dhatugatawastha would help to plan the treatment according to the stages of the disease and help to prevent the further development of disease and drug dependency. Thus, this study was focused on elaborating the concept of Dhatugatawastha in a Vadhi w.s.r. to Hypothyroidism. newlineA conceptual study was carried out by literature search and a critical review of the obtained facts. The clinical study includes, a cross-sectional study,50 patients with chronicity of hypothyroidism for more than 1 year and on therapy were categorized into 5 groups, according to their chronicity. The case proforma was designed to focus on advancing disease in Dhatuvaha Srotasa. The signs and symptoms described as Dhatupradoshaja Vikara, chronicity, findings of Thyroid Function Test, and drug dosage were recorded in each patient. newlineThe critical review accentuated that Dhatugatawastha is developed due to the involvement of an additional Dhatus in the Samptapti of Vyadhi. It develops at the stage of pathogenesis, or in the chronic stage of the disease. The signs and symptoms are developed as Kriyatmaka or Rachanatmaka Vikruti and manifested as Sthanastha or Sarvadehik Lakshana.
