Somatic growth motor ability and psychological well being status of sports trainees of different coaching centres a cross sectional study

Abstract

The present study entitled as Somatic Growth, Motor Ability and Psychological Well being Status of Sports Trainees of Different Coaching Centres- A Cross Sectional Study was conducted to observe and evaluate significant differences in somatic growth, motor ability and psychological wellbeing status of four hundred and fifty three sports trainees classified on the basis of age, gender, diet and game, of different coaching centres of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula, The one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Least Significant Difference (LSD) Post-hoc test and t -test were used to compare the age, gender, diet and game specific differences of sports trainees of different coaching centres. The results of the present study indicate statistically significant age, gender, diet and game specific differences with regard to somatic growth, motor ability and psychological wellbeing status of sports trainees of different coaching centres. The findings of the present study highlight the need and importance of age, gender, diet and game specific sports training having appropriate, engaging and enjoyable methods with programme variations and appropriate training volume in the properly structured and planned training environment for adolescents and youth. newline
