Abstract: | Internet of Things (IoT) enables every object with computing and newlinesensing capability to behave smart and communicate with other smart objects newlineover the Internet. An IoT system will analyse a specific environment because newlineit is equipped with several sensors which emit sensitive data that must be newlineprotected, making the security of their resources and services a top priority. newlineA broad range of heterogeneous devices in IoT network poses a significant newlinechallenge to secure access to sensitive information. Some of the major threat newlinefactors include IoT device resource limitations and network deployments at newlineinsecure locations. This creates a threat space for perpetrators to carry out newlinemalicious activities by launching various attacks against devices, data, and newlinenetworks. As an illustration, imagine how a massive information leak to newlinemalicious hands could jeopardise the Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of newlinedams and bridges or a power plant system, both of which have serious newlineconsequences. Further, there is yet no established standard secure architecture newlineand the reliability of the IoT system would be hampered by the frequent newlinecreation of false data by IoT sensors. Consequently, there is a very strong newlinelikelihood that crucial security objectives like the confidentiality, integrity and newlineavailability may be affected. Therefore, there is a need to establish a solid newlinesecure framework and advanced cryptography mechanisms in order to combat newlinenumerous threats. newline |
