Abstract: newline Induction motor is used for different applications in industries such newlineas grinding, milling, mining and automation. Induction motor is used in newlinevarious operations such as lifting, milling, grinding and pulling. Induction newlinemotor performance degrades over time due to continuous operation, over newlineload, transient unbalanced supply voltage and current. Hence, induction motor newlineperformance and efficiency are evaluated through measurement of motor newlinetorque. Motor torque is the force acting on rotor to rotate about an axis. The newlinerotors angular acceleration increase with force. The rotor in induction motor newlinerotates due to rotating magnetic field. The rotating magnetic field is from newlinestator winding. The flux from stator winding radially flows through air-gap. newlineThe magnitude and density of radial flux from stator winding causes torque. newlineThe magnitude of flux depends on stator winding which is based on Magneto newlineMotive Force (MMF). The flux density varies with supply voltage, current newlineand frequency. newlineFurthermore, the number of poles in motor and supply input newlinefrequency influences radial flux speed. The radial flux interacts with rotor newlineaxial in motor and produces torque. The torque produced in motor is in same newlinedirection as rotating magnetic field. The torque of motor depends on slip size. newlineMotor torque is maximum, when rotor resistance is equal to rotor inductive newlinereactance. High motor torque causes object acceleration. The motor efficiency newlineis evaluated through torque measurement and energy consumption of motor is newlinebased on load conditions. Torque measurement in motor improves mechanical newlineperformance of machine through increased rotation efficiency. Motor torque newline(MT) measurement is used in Electrical vehicle (EV) to assess fuel newlineconsumption and reliability of vehicle. Torque measurement is used for newlineassessment of power transmission in EV and pulling power of EV. newline
