dc.description.abstractABSTRACT newlineDengue fever which is more commonly spread in tropical and subtropical countries all over the world and is caused by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito during the monsoon season. Generally it breeds in the monsoon and post-monsoon season and it reaches its peak during the month of October and November. In India this has become a major public health problem and only a proper intervention method, and proper surveillance it can be stopped. newlinePublic health problem aims the treatment of disease through prevention of disease. This is done with the health indicators and the surveillance of cases. Dengue is a public health problem affects not only diseased but also healthy people; it doesn t differentiate between the rich and the poor and men and women. This disease not only effects the urban but also sub-urban and rural areas, however the onslaught is mainly in the urban areas because of the complexity and higher case detection rate. People here in India are at risk of dengue fever as India contains half of the 205 billion world population. The dengue virus is already established in all parts of Indian sub-continent and emerged as the major public health problem. newlineIndia being one of the tropical countries where the onslaught of dengue has turned into an epidemic caused by the mosquito borne viral disease affecting human s world wide. Aedes aegypti mosquito is the major transmitter of dengue /DHF (Dengue Haemorrhage Fever)/Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS). newlineThat s why the researcher in this research choose this problem to find out the KAP (Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice) gap present among the people living in community, in various wards in kolkata, the capital city of the state West Bengal, India, related to dengue and its eradication. newlineThe main goal of this research was to assess the knowledge about the dengue fever, dengue fever prevention and preventive practices, its transmission and actual management of it in the wards in Kolkata, the capital city of the state West Bengal, country India. newlineThe research would to encourage de
