Abstract: | This thesis conducts a comprehensive investigation into the flexural behaviour of Reinforced Concrete (RC) beams that are strengthened using a Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Polymer (HFRP) system. The study aims to assess the effectiveness and performance of the HFRP system in enhancing the flexural strength and load-carrying capability of RC beams. The objective is to develop affordable and sustainable strengthening solutions for existing structures. The research incorporates a HFRP system comprising carbon, glass, and a newly developed cellulosic fiber extracted from the stem of Hibiscus Vitifolius (HVF). The study also explores the mechanical properties of manufactured sand used as a fine aggregate in the concrete mix newline |
