Aluminium Alloy based Hybrid Metal Matrix Composites newline(HMMC) are broadly employed for different kind of applications such as newlineaerospace, aircraft, marine, military, automobile and transport applications newlinedue to their high strength to weight ratio, higher stiffness, better mechanical newlineproperties, higher corrosion resistance and tribological properties. The newlinealuminium alloy is developed to overcome the draw backs or lack of newlineproperties in the pure aluminium. The Aluminium Metal Matrix Composites newlineare developed to overcome the lack of properties in the aluminium and also in newlinealuminium alloys. The emerging industries are in the need of enhancement of newlinelife of the components to be used in diversified applications and it is fulfilled newlineby the novel Aluminium Alloy based Metal Matrix Composites. In this newlineresearch, Aluminium Alloy 6061 (AA6061) has been selected as matrix newlinematerial. The limitations of AA6061 s mechanical and tribological newlinecapabilities have led to its selection as matrix material. The reinforcements newlineTungsten Carbide (WC) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) are exceptionally robust newlineceramic reinforcements and hence these reinforcement materials are selected newlineto form a novel combination of AA6061/SiC/WC HMMCs. The ball milling newlineprocess is utilized to reduce the size of the selected reinforcements because of newlinesmall sized reinforcements are having better bonding with its matrix material newlineand reducing porosity. The reinforcements SiC and WC are in equal weight newlinepercentage while reinforcing and the selected weight percentages are 0, 2, 4, newline6, 8 and 10. newline
