Nature of Dalit awakening in Himachal Pradesh a case study of Shimla district

Abstract

This study is conducted in the state of Himachal Pradesh in shimla district in the context of dalit awakening for their social political economic and educational status. nature of Dalit awakening in the state is different from the others State of India it is called dev bhumi the land of gods and goddesses so here caste system play a significant role in the states of Himachal Pradesh.main objectives of the present study were to find out the extent of political, social and economic awareness and changes in the Dalits in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The purpose of this chapter is to present the summary, conclusions and findings, which can be taken up for further investigations in future. The focus of the research was on the problem of dalits and the extent of their awareness and political participation in the democratic system.
