Abstract: | The current study entitled A Study of Anthropometric, Physical Fitness and Physiological Parameters among Grapplers in Relation to Performance is done to obtain the Doctoral degree. The study is mainly based on primary data, which was collected from Freestyle and Greco-Roman grapplers from different academies and Akharas of various districts of Haryana. The main objectives of the study are, to find out the difference among Freestyle and Greco-Roman grapplers across different weight categories with regard to Anthropometrical variables, to find out the difference among Freestyle and Greco-Roman grapplers across different weight categories with regard to Physical fitness variables, to find out the difference among Freestyle and Greco-Roman grapplers across different weight categories with regard to Physiological parameters, to find out the relationship with and impact of Anthropometrical variables on the performance of Freestyle and Greco-Roman grapplers, to find out the relationship with and impact of Physical fitness variables on the performance of Freestyle and Greco-Roman grapplers and to find out the relationship with and impact of Physiological parameters on the performance of Freestyle and Greco-Roman grapplers. T- test is used for testing the significant difference between the means of two groups (Greco-Roman and Freestyle) across different weight categories. The multivariate techniques were used to examine the impact of Anthropometrical, Physical fitness variables, Physiological parameters on the performance of Freestyle and Greco-Roman grapplers. Study observed that Freestyle and Greco-Roman grapplers across different weight categories suggests varying patterns in terms of anthropometric, physical fitness variables and physiological parameters. Freestyle and Greco-Roman grapplers reveals that Freestyle grapplers tend to excel in explosive strength, back strength, and left-hand grip, while Greco-Roman grapplers display superior flexibility, right-hand grip and reaction time. |
