Abstract: This study aims to explore the relationship between internet addiction, socio economic status and perceived loneliness on a sample of 736 students from government and private senior secondary schools of Amritsar. Major findings revealed that there exists positive and significant relationship among internet addiction, socioeconomic status and perceived loneliness. It was found that there exists no significant interactional effect of internet addiction with socio economic status and perceived loneliness. Results revealed that there exists significant difference between government and private school students, urban and rural school students, but was not significant with male and female students. 13.4% of the variance in internet addiction is caused by variables of socio-economic status and perceived loneliness conjointly. newline
