Abstract: | Metallic and ceramic fillers are being used by most of the researchers for the fabrication and characterization of various polymer composites. However, the possible use of nano bio-wastes as a filler has not been vigorously explored so far. The primary objective of present investigation is to studies the consequences of rice husk nanoparticles on mechanical, thermal, and physical characteristics of epoxy hybrid composites reinforced with Borassus leaf fibre. The most recent genus of natural cellulosic fibre has been obtained from the leaf of Borassus flabellifer L. To address the disadvantages of hydroxyl bonding, the extracted leaf fibres were treated with NaOH solution for four hours. Using mechanical stirring and sonication techniques, rice husk nanoparticles (RHN) made from rice husks were combined with epoxy to influence them with 0.25, 0.45, and 0.65 wt.% (weight percent of composites), respectively. Composites were made using hand lay-up technique. Prepared specimens were evaluated to assess the physical, mechanical, thermal, dynamic-mechanical, and erosion behaviour of the composites. newline |
