Abstract: newline The research work presented in this thesis primarily contributes to frequency control issues by the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technique and their hybridization/simplification for stable and acceptable operation of power systems. Among the soft computing techniques, modern heuristic optimization techniques like hybrid Dragon Fly and Pattern Search (hDF-PS), hybrid Whale Optimization Algorithm and Pattern Search algorithm (hWOA-PS), hybrid Stochastic Fractal Search and Pattern Search (hSFS-PS), Modified Grey Wolf Optimization (MGWO) algorithm and Simplified Grey Wolf Optimization (SGWO) are employed for frequency control issues. Also, conventional and improved controller structures are proposed for performance enhancement of power systems with various sources of power generations.
