Abstract: newlineOver the years, the investigation on diffraction of waves by different upper surfaces newlinehas gained a considerable importance in the area of coastal engineering and several newlineworks have been appeared in the literature for small base distortions on the seabed. newlineIn the present study of diffraction of water waves, various mixed boundary value newlineproblems (BVPs) associated with different physical problems are considered for the calculation newlineof the potential functions. Here, the governing equation occurs to be Laplace s newlineequation in the case of normal occurrence waves, with a boundary condition on the flexible newlinesurface and the other condition on the top surface. The mathematical procedures newlineused in the thesis for acquiring the solutions are: (i) Green s function method and (ii) newlineFourier transform method
