dc.description.abstractAir transportation is an emerging service oriented industry. Airlines carrying both passenger and cargo occupy a key position in air transportation. At least one fourth of the population in the world are employed in the aviation related jobs. Obviously, a sizeable amount of the educated youth is aspiring for jobs in aviation sector. It is observed that employeeand#8223;s turnover is quite common in airline industry. This habit is more so among Customer service employees. Thus employerand#8223;s major concern is to maintain and retain employees in the organisation. One important tool to retain employee is to create job satisfaction. A satisfied employee will develop loyalty to the organisation and stay with it even in times of turmoil. This paper highlights the factors influencing job satisfaction among airline employees in Tamil Nadu. Job satisfaction is a product of employees positive feelings about all components of the job such as Compensation, Working environment, Job Security, cordial relations with peers and supervisors. The study identifies the factors influencing satisfaction of employees about their job, and to give policy implication relating employees performance, job satisfaction and employee retention. newlineAir transportation is the fastest, safest and convenient mode of transportation. Airline industry is growing day by day. India is the fourth largest aviation market in terms of number of passengers. The domestic and international passenger traffic growth rate is 23 percent and 8 percent respectively during the year 2016. During February 2017, domestic airlines carried over 8.23 million passengers, showing a growth of more than 23 percent compared to the same period last year. newline newline newline
