Abstract: Transition metal ions based metallosurfactant (M-S) used as an electrocatalyst for water splitting reaction. In this work three types of M-Ss based assemblies viz., single metal based assemblies, mix-metal based micelles, and M-Ss derived nanocomposites were used for water splitting reaction. The film of these assemblies was characterized by FESEM, FTIR, HRTEM, XPS, etc. Single metal based M-Ss (i.e. CoCPCI, PdCPCI, and MoDDAI) and mix-metallomicelles (CoDDAI and MoDDAI and MoDDAI and PdDDAI) were used as electrocatalyst towards Hydrogen Evolution Reaction (HER) in acidic medium. Further, nanocomposite based assemblies (CoPd and MoPd NC) were developed from their respective M-S s (CoCTACI and PdCTACI) and (MoCTACI and PdCTACI), respectively in order to increase the surface area and used for HER (acidic and basic media) and OER (basic medium). In this work, mix-metallomicelles have attracted attention as far as HER activity was concerned and preparation of these assemblies did not require any tedious procedure as is the case of nanoparticles. newline
