dc.description.abstract | In order to secure global food security, efforts must be made to determine the sources of heat tolerance in such crops. The rising temperatures have a significant negative influence on food crops, particularly Urdbean. In the current study,Urdbean genotypes were assessed for heat tolerance under outdoor conditions for two years subsequently (2018, 2019), and then in the controlled environment of the growth chamber to find high temperature tolerant lines. A few physiological traits (membrane damage, chlorophyll, photosynthetic efficiency, stomatal conductance, and lipid peroxidation), reproductive traits (pollen germination percentage and pollen viability percentage), and yield-related traits (total number of pods plant, total seeds plant, single seed weight, and seed yield plant) were used to assess the genotypes. PantU31, Mash114, UTTARA (IPU 94-1), and IPU18-04 genotypes were shown to be promising genotypes based on these assessed attributes. newline | |
