Abstract: Introduction: newlineSerum homocysteine level association with PVD is not delineated in larger cohorts. newlineAims and objectives: newlineThe purpose of the current study is to assess whether circulatory serum homocysteine might serve as a predictor the severity of peripheral vascular disease by correlating the serum homocysteine levels with the Doppler ultra-sonographic findings in PVD patients. newlineMaterials and methods: newlineThe analysis comprised sum recruitment of 50 peoples who had been clinically diagnosed to have peripheral vascular disease and had been subjected to Doppler ultrasonography in class to assess the severity of PVD illness as well as serum homocysteine grade can be utilized as of severity of the above-stated disease by correlating the serum homocysteine level with the severity of PVD by Doppler sonography finding. The study was performed for a period of 1 year (March 2021 to March 2022) and the patients were enrolled for the analysis only if they met the below-stated inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study was initiated only after obtaining the IEC approval and the patient s consult. Patient s data inclusive of encompasses variables such as as age, gender, surgical or interventional procedure underwent by the patient, serum homocysteine levels, and Doppler findings were collected prospectively and entered in to excel sheet for statistical analysis. Data were analysed using SPSS software version 25. newlineResults: newlineThe analysis of serum homocysteine showed that a higher proportion of the population had mild severity 36% (n=18), followed by normal findings in 34% (n=17), moderate severity in 16% (n=8), and severe severity in 14% (n=7).There is an excellent correlation observed between the PVD severity of Doppler findings of grading with the severity of serum homocysteine levels of grading (and#967;2=150, p=0.000).The comparison of mean serum homocysteine levels matched absolutely with the grading of PVD s of Doppler ultrasonography.
